Scene Three
Diet & heart disease

A diet high in saturated fat, salt and sugar and low in complex carbohydrates, fruit and vegetables increases the risk of heart disease.

Eating food high in saturated fat and trans-fatty acids will cause health problems such as obesity, high blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes and heart disease.

A diet high in saturated fat causes cholesterol to build up in the arteries restricting the flow of blood around the body, increasing the risk of a heart attacks, strokes and blood vessel problems.

Over one third of heart disease in men and women can be related to lack of physical activity. The heart needs exercise to keep the body fit so that it can pump blood efficiently around the body.

An unbalanced diet including too many fizzy drinks, greasy foods, like fries and burgers can lead to an increase in flatulence, indigestion, stomach acid and ulcers.
