ActionDog Ltd has developed an innovative workshop programme that introduces creative technology in an entertaining and inspiring way. We offer the chance to participate in the kind of music and video making normally reserved for industry professionals.
What happens
During the workshops, the participants compose, and record a track from scratch and make an accompanying video, with each student gaining hands-on experience with the technology involved. Using our mobile studios, we are able to deliver our projects at any location.
Our flexible programmes range from taster sessions of just three hours, to projects lasting several weeks. Groups can be of mixed ability, novices or experts.
Outcomes
Every participant has the opportunity to leave the project with a CD or DVD of project work. Young people who attend a project of 30 hours or more have the opportunity to gain the Nationally recognised ASDAN accreditation.
Themes
ActionDog have been involved with many projects that encourage young people to explore a variety of issues that affect today’s youth. Subjects tackled maybe as diverse as gang culture to living alongside the elderly. The outcomes can be developed to include a wider audience, we have showcased young people’s anti-gun projects at a Trident conference for example, a music video produced by another group is used as a learning resource for the 4YP sexual health project. We encourage the participation of guest speakers and experts on a wide range of issues, from information about drug and alcohol abuse to career advice from radio DJs.
